So many folks are thinking about selling their home in the Spring, the historically busiest time in the real estate market in Knoxville. While curb appeal is king, its also important to make sure that everyting indoors is in tip top shape too!
There's always that daunting checklist of "spruce ups" that needs to be tackled in order for the house to be show ready. January is a great time to get a leg up on those projects, here are a few items to get your mind
moving in the right direction:
- Fresh coat of paint on all rooms
- Freshly painted front door
- Planter boxes and flower beds cleaned up and trimmed back
- New mailbox to replace worn one
- Decks and porches renewed and/or replaced
- Floors and carpets replaced as needed
- All appliances working correctly
- Toilets and sinks - any leaks or runs addressed
- New sink and lighting fixtures installed
Some of these things are super simple, but when you wait until March to begin, you will feel overwhelmed. The best approach is to make a list of the things you want to accomplish to improve your home for resale, and then tackle 2-3 things each month. That way, when its time to get your home photographed and on the market for all of Knoxville to see, the house will be in pristine condition.
